Sustainability Across the Packaging Lifecycle

OMNI‑PAC Group takes a lifecycle approach to moulded fibre packaging. This means considering where materials come from, how efficiently they are used, how packaging performs throughout the supply chain and what recovery options are available after use. Our fibre-based solutions are developed to balance environmental objectives with practical requirements such as strength, liquid retention, product protection, stackability and manufacturing performance. The most sustainable packaging is not simply the material with the strongest claim; it is a solution that performs its intended function while avoiding unnecessary material use, product damage and waste.

Responsible Fibre and Material Selection

Recovered paper and cardboard are important raw materials in OMNI‑PAC’s moulded fibre manufacturing processes. These materials are combined with water to create a fibre slurry, formed into the required shape and dried to produce strong, lightweight packaging.

Using recovered fibre helps preserve the value of existing materials and can reduce reliance on conventional plastic and foam packaging in suitable applications. Depending on the product and its technical requirements, carefully selected virgin fibres, functional additives or treatments may also be used to achieve the necessary strength, finish, barrier or hygiene performance.

Material composition and end-of-life options therefore vary between products. We work with customers to identify a solution that balances packaging performance, supply-chain requirements and environmental objectives.

Efficient Moulded Fibre Manufacturing
Turning fibre materials into consistent, high-performance packaging.

OMNI‑PAC uses established wet-moulding processes and advanced after-pressing technology to manufacture moulded fibre products for a wide range of applications. After-pressing can improve dimensional accuracy, rigidity and surface quality while helping create packaging suited to efficient stacking, transport and presentation.

Throughout production, our teams monitor material use, product quality and process performance. We continue to assess opportunities to improve resource and energy efficiency while maintaining the technical performance customers require.

Designed to Reduce Material and Transport Waste
Efficient packaging begins with the right design.

Sustainability is considered from the earliest stages of product development. Our design and tooling teams assess product dimensions, protection requirements, material use, nesting, palletisation and transport conditions before recommending a packaging solution.

Nestable moulded fibre products can use storage and vehicle space efficiently, while packaging designed around the product can reduce unnecessary material and help prevent damage during handling and distribution. For custom projects, prototypes can be evaluated and refined before full-scale production.

Contributing To A Circular Economy

We are actively contributing to the future of our environment and the packaging manufacturing industry in general. Reduce, reuse, recycle is our mantra and we are continuously looking for ways that we as a company can be more proactively green throughout our people, processes and the companies we work with.

Together we can endTake > Make > Waste

When we talk about ‘take-make-waste’, what we’re referring to is an approach to resources. This model is the basis of the linear economy, in which raw materials are collected, transformed into products which are used briefly, and then thrown away. Take, make, waste.

Circular economy is an alternative framework for designing, making and using things that is kinder to the environment. Unlike the linear economy, it is restorative and regenerative by design, and prevents waste by recovering and reusing as many products and materials as possible. In other words, the circular economy tries to embed things in cycles: take, make, use, consume, regenerate, restore, reuse.

All our environmentally friendly products ensure the sustainable management of our environmental resources and are employed in a raw material cycle.
